Reading is Sweet!

After looking at our various collection of die-cuts, I decided for this month's bulletin board to be a dessert theme. We had ice cream, popsicle, cupcakes, and candy die-cuts and thought the pastel colors and brown would look very bakery-ish.

I found a variety of awesome dessert picture books and I think this theme would be great for a storytime program.

Fly Away With Books!

It was time to put up a new bulletin board display for the beginning of the month. I know it's a little too early for kite flying, but I couldn't resist and before you know it, it'll be time to fly a kite.

We had a bunch of great books on the subject of kites that this display fit together perfectly!

Unwrap a Good Book

My December bulletin board would be the backdrop for our Santa visit so I had to make sure I came up with something Christmas-y for Santa pictures. I enjoyed making the presents under the tree sparkle by using gold ribbon and gathered some holiday craft books to display.

Fall Into a Book

After using my usual bulletin board space for fall coloring contest entries, it was time to take down entries, pick our winners, and fill up the space before it's used for holiday decorating in December.

I ended up getting my inspiration from this bulletin board display

Reading By Design

I really liked how my last spring bulletin board turned out, but it was time to take it down and promote the Summer Reading Club, Reading By Design.

I had the idea to use Little Elliot, circus font letters, and pink and blue dots to go along with the promotion iRead has been using. I like the way this turned out, but I have to get better at centering.

It won't be up for long anyway because our library lacks bulletin board space and we will be needing a lot of space to put up names of those who sign-up. What makes this year different is that we will be separating each name by school they attend and will be having them write their name on a book die-cut to be displayed. Of course there will also be a spot for those who aren't old enough to attend school yet and those in private and home school.

Our busy summer will soon be starting!

Books are Egg-citing!

Here's the latest bulletin board display I put together. We have a lot of other work going on, so it isn't as elaborate or homemade as my last bulletin board, but I like how it turned out and I can keep it up for a while since things are busy.

Spring will soon be here!
